Similar to every other website in the world, we collect non-personally-identifying information made available to us by your browser through Google Analytics and CloudFlare. This information is collected to help us better understand how our visitors use our website.
Additionally, we collect personally-identifying information when you sign up for an event through our website or create an account/subscribe to our newsletter. For example, we ask that you provide your name and email address when you create an account on our website or subscribe to our newsletter. This is so we can contact you later on regarding events and activities that you have either joined or may be interested in.
Release of Aggregate Statistics
Project 5K may publish non-personally-identifying aggregate statistics publicly or otherwise. For example, we may publish the number of volunteers who have signed up through our service through our social media channels.
Protection and Release of Personally-Identifying Information
Project 5K takes your personal information seriously. We disclose your personal information on a need-to-know basis to our executive members and event organizers. This is so that we may coordinate your attendance and activates at an event with you and the event organizer. By signing up for an event through our website, you agree that we may release your personal information to the previously listed parties as well as any other parties that may require your information in order for you to attend the event. We will not disclose your personal information to parties who have no relation to your attendance at our events, and we will never sell your information to any party.
The only exception to the aforementioned personal information policy is for legal purposes. If we receive a court order to release your information for any reason to any party, we will have to comply and do so.

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on your computer, and that your browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. We uses cookies to help us identify and track visitors, their usage of our website, and their website access preferences. Note: The below terms may be overridden by further terms pertaining to specific events. E.g. Your event might have a more stringent liability waiver that overrides this one.

By participating in any event through Project 5K, you agree to and understand the following:
Liability

Project 5K is not liable for any damages or legal issues incurred from any volunteer events.

Project 5K is not responsible for any lost or damaged items (personal or otherwise)

We will not be liable for any misinformation that may occur on their part. While we do our best to ensure that correct and reliable information is passed along, we do rely on third parties to supply us with said information, and therefore we cannot be responsible.
Our rights

We reserve the right to cancel or modify your relationship with us at any time should it be appropriate.

Unless you explicitly inform us in writing that you will not like your photo taken, we have the right to take photos and videos of you during the event for marketing and analytical purposes. Should there be an option allowing us to take your photo on the event sign up form, not checking it constitutes informing us in writing.
Your information and rights

Any changes in our information about you should be brought to us immediately via our communications email channel. Failure to do so may result in your expulsion from our events should we be unable to accommodate your request in time.

You have the right to cancel your attendance to any event we hold, however failure to do so in a timely manner (we must be notified at least 4 days prior to an event) may result in your suspension from future events we hold or help organize. This suspension period is the sole decision of Project 5K

We do not disclose personally-identifiable information to any third-parties or partners other than those involved directly with the event.
